Jenny dropped to her knees and wailed, "No! Please! We'll do anything! We'll tell the cops you went the other way, just let us go!" Snarling, Jason smacked her across the face with the back of his hand so hard she fell to the wet earth, her cheek stinging and eyes watering.
"Ease up!" said Morris. "Don't bruise the merchandise." He roughly grabbed her shoulders and pulled her to her feet. "Do you think we're stupid?" he demanded. Jenny was still trembling with cold and fear, but now she was feeling another emotion as well- she was pissed off. She glowered at Morris and spat in his eye. "Bastards!" she snarled. Josh raised his hand like he was going to whack her in the face, then remembered was Morris had said.
At this moment Priya realized nobody was watching her. She began to back slowly towards the bushes, trying not to make a sound. A hard task with her body shivering uncontrollably and her teeth chattering but... if she could escape, she could get help for Jenny. |
