Divorce and the Twins | conkers024 | 6

Jack drove around for hours before coming home in the early morning. His long drive did nothing to settle his mind and so he slept on the couch. Hours later he was woken up by Ashlin as she left to school. Jack called in sick and decided to spend the day at home.

Finally an idea came to him. Jack called a friend who specializes in surveillance. Within an hour there was a knock at the door.

“George!” Jack greeted his old friend.

“Hey what’s up Jackie!” George hugged Jack. The two went to the livingroom and sat down to enjoy a few beers. They caught up for about an hour before getting down to business. ‘So how can I help ya?” George asked.

“I need some surveillance equipment installed discreetly.” Jack said with a serious face.

“Sure what do ya need?” George asked.

“I want full surveillance of everything that goes on in this house; every room at every angle has to be under my watch. I want cameras hidden in stuffed bears, vases, and ceilings, whatever you can do.” He explained.

“Sounds serious, what exactly are you trying to keep an eye?” George asked.

“I spend the majority of my time at the clinic and have two teenage daughters here left unsupervised. I don’t want anything to get past me.”

“Alright I see what you’re saying.” George said.

“How fast do you think you can get it done?” Jack asked.

George smiled. “I’m the best there is Jack, give me two afternoons and this house will be under stricter watch than Cat Stevens at an airport.” He laughed.

“Thanks.” Jack said. George left an hour later right before the girls came home from school. Ashlin walked immediately toward the kitchen but Katherine went into the backyard looking for Jack.

“Hey honey.” Jack said as he cooked a steak on the grill. “You hungry?”

“No dad.” Katherine said. “Mr. Johnson across the street asked if I could help him set up his new mp3 player, can I go?”

Let her go?
