A look of fear still clouds Andi's face, but at least it is now tempered with a soft aura of happiness and peace. Her eyes lock with yours for only a fraction of a second before she looks back at the table. “I wanna try this too...just be patient with me.”
You smile at Andi. “Of course, Andi.” With that, you lean over and lightly kiss her cheek. She looks up at you first in surprise and shock, then a smile grows across her face. Three or four beats pass before Andi leans over and lightly kisses your lips. Her soft, moist lips meet yours as the light scent of the coffee and cream from her breath caresses your nose. You take your time, enjoying the kiss, holding it there for as long as Andi wants to keep you there. After a few moments, she breaks the kiss, her cheeks a bit flush as a goofy grin refuses to leave her face. “I...I gotta go get ready for class...but...if you have some time tonight...that is, if you're not busy...”
You find the same grin trying to push its way to your mouth as you laugh softly. “I'm free if you'd like to hang out tonight...that is, if you want to.”
Andi nods, “I'd like that.” She awkwardly turns and goes to her room to get ready for school. With that, you clean up yours and Andi's dishes, then get ready for another day at work.
As the day progresses, you sometimes find yourself smiling and thinking of Andi for no reason at all. You know you want to do something special tonight, but you don't want to push either of you too hard or fast. Finally, the end of your shift comes around and you head home, stopping at a local convenience store to purchase a couple of disposable cameras.
Once you get home, you take a quick shower before slipping on your comfortable jeans, your beat-up tennis shoes, and your black T-shirt with the Decepticons emblem. You can't help but wonder if you are dressed too casually as you burn a CD and pace the floor. Once the CD finishes, you hear a knock at the door, followed by Andi's voice. “, are you there?”
You take a deep breath to steel yourself, then answer, “Yeah, come on in, Andi.” The door opens and you find yourself awe-struck. Andi stands in the doorway wearing a pair of hip-hugger blue jeans that look well worn and beaten and a pair of black sandals. A loose dark blue T-shirt with the Cobra logo both covers and shows off her chest as she smiles at you with both shyness and confidence.
“At least I didn't underdress,” she giggles as she admires your outfit.
You laugh with her as you take the CD out of the computer, grab the two cameras, and offer her your arm. “Shall we?”
Her giggle becomes a laugh as she wraps her arm around yours. “Lead on, Macduff.”
As the two of you walk down the stairs, you think you notice Kelly watching the two of you with a smile on her face...but when you try to look back up the stairs, there is no sign of her. You shrug it off as Andi asks, “So, where are we going?” |
