“Well, at least I know what you two were doing last night,” the redhead chuckles as she pours herself a cup of coffee.
“It wasn’t like that at all…” you try to explain.
Andi jumps in. “We went to the Family Fun Center, then came back and watched Labyrinth, then I went to my room and went to his. We didn’t do anything.”
Kelly looks first at you, then at Andi, then back at you with a look of both disbelief and approval. “I have to say this for you, , either you move quickly or you two have it bad.” With that, she raises her coffee cup in a mock toast, then goes back upstairs to her room.
You look over at Andi. “Is she always like this?”
“She’s always been a bit dramatic.” Then Andi lowers her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “I know she has no shortage of lovers, but I don’t think anyone has ever managed to capture her heart or want her for more than her body.”
Well, you think to yourself, she does have a lovely body at that. Part of you wonders if you should try to talk to Kelly, maybe cheer her up a bit. As you mull this over, you notice Andi out of the corner of your eye. She’s starting to look a bit worried and upset as well, as if something is troubling her too. |
