Kathryn packed the rest of her stuff into the bag as Bryan carried the other two bags to the cart.
"Can you believe that Sally and Jim offered to pay for our trip and even offered us their spare room?" Kathryn asked as she carefully folded a dress into the bag.
"Let's face it, I think it was more Peter and Sandy asking if we could finish off our vacation with them." Bryan answered.
"I think Hank and Veevee were going to offer too. You know, Bryan...I've spent my whole life trying to...to fit in...to belong somewhere. With Jasmine, you I thought I'd live a great life. But now...it's like...I...I feel like I belong with them. They are the most non-judgmental people I've ever met. And I love them all for it."
"And I love them for making you feel that way. I really do. Now let's get this packed up so we can get the refund and catch the plane."
Kathryn stepped over to Bryan and kissed him hard, "I *love* you."
Bryan wrapped his arms around her, "I love you, too." Kathryn buried her head into his shoulder and the two of them stood like that for a few moments. |
