You get up and follow Becky to the front of the room. You both stop standing side by side in front of Mrs. Sullivan. She is smiling at each of you like a kid on Christmas morning. You look over at Becky and see that she looks very nervous. She keeps glancing over at the door and then back to Mrs. Sullivan.
Becky’s unease doesn’t go unnoticed by Mrs. Sullivan either. She smiles warmly at Becky and tells her
“Relax Becky; I’m not going to hurt you.”
“Then why did you lock the door?” Becky asks with a shaky voice.
“Sweetie relax; it’s not like you can’t walk over and unlock the door yourself. I simply locked it because I don’t want to be interrupted during our special lessons.”
“Exactly what is it we’re going to be doing in these lessons?” Becky asks nervously although her voice seems much steadier.
“We’ll be doing sexual education of course.” Mrs. Sullivan replies happily. “Shall we begin?”
Becky still doesn’t seem sure but nods her head in response to Mrs. Sullivan’s query.
“Jake are you ready?” your teacher asks as her attention returns to you.
You’re not sure what’s going on but you decide to see where this is going. So you nod in acknowledgement as well.
