You decide that your loyalties are with Kelly, as you have known her for years. Carrie you only just met tonight and well she seems a bit rough around the edges. You bend down to see if Kelly is okay and ask the on lookers to give you some space. You can’t be too sure but you think she has just been knocked out. Her eye is starting to swell and Kelly will most likely have a damn impressive black eye tomorrow. A girl who’s house you guess this is, puts her hand on your shoulder and asks, “How is she?”
“I think she’s knocked unconscious at the moment. Is there a spare room we can put her to rest?” you tell the girl.
“Sure, you can take her into my room. I’ll show you where it is.”
You place your arms under Kelly prone body and pick her up, making sure to support her head. You follow the girl and she leads you to one of the rooms. You take Kelly inside and lay her down on the bed with a pillow under her neck. “I’m Shelly by the way, one of Kelly’s friends,” the girl introduces herself to you while you make sure Kelly is comfortable.
“Hi. It's nice to meet you. Great place you have here,” you say as you tell her who you are.
“Thanks but it’s my parents house. They’re away for the weekend. Look is anything I can get Kelly to help her feel better?” Shelly asks you, genuinely concerned for her friend.
“Um could you perhaps get me some ice in a tea towel or something to put on her eye?”
“No worries,” she says as she disappears from the room.
Shelly returns in a few minutes with ice in a cloth that has been moistened. You place it gently over Kelly bruised eye. You watch as she stirs and comes around, the ice seeming to have an effect right away. “What happened?” Kelly manages to whisper.
“You just got your lights knocked out by Carrie when you slapped her,” Shelly says from the other side of the bed.
“Are you okay?” you ask Kelly.
“Mmmrrr the back of my head hurts,” she says and lifts her head up.
You have a feel and discover a large lump on her skull. “Must be were you bumped your head on the ground when you collapsed,” you give her an explanation. Shelly again goes for more ice this time to place under her head.
Some time passes and Kelly slowly regains full awareness even if she is a bit sore. Shelly leaves and comes back later to tell you that most of the people have left the party now including Carrie. Kelly is sitting up with her eyes slowly darkening to purple. You say to her, “we should start think about what we are going to do.”
Shelly quickly adds, “you are both very welcome to stay here tonight if you don’t feel up to moving.”
“What did you want to do Kell? Do you want to stay here or would you prefer if I took you home?” |
