Although Cheryl was relieved that she didn't have to get into the seedy car with
the strange man, the rest of the day turns fruitless. As minutes turn to hours, no other
cars drive by down this lonely stretch of highway to aid Cheryl.
Cheryl stands next to her car, sweat drenching her white tank top, turning see through.
Her shorts grow damp, and uncomfortable, and as the heat takes its toll, Cheryl
finally succumbs to heat exhaustion in the middle of nowhere.

Later that day, the news reports of a young woman found stranded on the side of the
road, unconscious. She's treated for heat exhaustion and was released back to her
family.
Although, Cheryl makes it home eventually, missing her boyfriend's birthday appears
to put a dent in her relationship. Cheryl and her boyfriend break up three weeks
later.
