Ensign Rob Daniels was incredibly surprised to discover that the Chief of Security was a short and slender Asian woman. But there was no mistake; the gorgeous woman who was barely over 5'1" and in possession of a large, firm bosom and luxuriously long black hair, wore the rank of Lieutenant Commander on her collar. Rob couldn't help but notice the Lieutenant Commander's sheer beauty; the Commander looked as if she belonged on one of the Federation's Entertainment or Fashion holochannels rather than being in charge of a starship's security detail. As the Lieutenant Commander turned away from him to study something on the nearby command console, Rob found himself unable to resist admiring the graceful curves of her backside. Rob's drifting mind was interrupted by the Commander's harsh voice.
“Ensign! This is an appalling start to your time on board the Potemkin! Is this your way of telling me you wish to be relieved of duty and removed from your posting before we leave port?” The Lieutenant Commander's voice was harsh, bitter and angry as she spoke to Rob without turning around.
Rob reeled. His pleasant surprise had been instantly transformed to a horrible and unwelcome one. “No ma'am! That is not my wish ma'am!” Rob barked in reply. Who was this woman?
“You are barely on time, Ensign. The security sensors charted your progress through the Potemkin and I can tell you now that if you had had to stop for any reason, any reason at all, you would have been late. Such tardiness is not tolerated by members of my team. Do I make myself clear, Ensign?"
"Ma'am. Yes ma'am."
Lt. Commander Chengcheng kept her back to Rob, “Ensign Daniels – you will tell me now whether or not you wish to be part of the Potemkin's security team. If you do not wish to be on my team, then you will leave the ship without a stain on your record; you may even seek to serve on the Potemkin in a different division. But if you tell me you wish to remain, then you will immediately be placed on administrative leave until such time as you have passed my own security tests. These tests are in addition to the Starfleet training you have already received.” |
