Suddenly,after another loud crash of thunder and bright flash of lightning, the house goes dark.
Plunged into darkness,the girls wait momentarily to see if the power returns,when it does not Katie takes charge.
"Melissa,where are you?" she calls into the dark room.
"Right here to your right." Came the reply.
"There are matches and candles in the kitchen,I am going to try and find them." Katie tells her friend.
"Wait! I have a lighter!" Says Melissa,and seconds later a small flame from a lighter appears.
"This should help you a little bit." The girl says as she passes the lighter to Katie.
Taking the lighter,and shielding the flame with her hand, she slowly walked toward the kitchen to find the candles. As she passed the hallway, a cold wind breezed passed her down the corridor. The flame blew out,but she quickly relit the lighter. Just as the flame returned,Katie swore she saw a shadowy figure moving down the hallway.
Must be her mind messing with her,she thought, and continued to the kitchen.
