Congratulations! Someone has made a submission to your story! New submissions are considered LOCKED until they are approved by appropriate sources (an editor, or the appropriate number of trusted writers). While a thread is locked, it cannot be added to. Such submissions are, however, considered "fresh," and do add the story to the Fresh Stories list even if the thread is ultimately rejected.

You will receive an email when someone adds to your chyoo. You will also be notified as such on your chyoo homepage. You can even find the new thread on your story map. New threads, regardless of who wrote them, appear on the map with a red circle.

Click on any link to view the new submission. You will find that the New Submission screen looks a lot like the Add Thread and Edit Thread screens. Here, you can edit any aspect of the thread. In fact, you can even rewrite the whole thing if you really want to. The only thing you cannot control is the name of the author. You can delete and write anew an entire submission, but the credit will still go to whoever initially sent the submission.

The one thing different about this screen is that it includes an extra option: whether to accept or deny the thread. If you accept, any changes you have made will finalize (still editable, of course), and the writer will be notified by email of your decision. If you deny the thread, you are required to put something in the Notes field explaining why. When the writer receives the rejection email, he will also receive your notes.

Understand that notes will not be sent to the writer if you accept the thread. Instead, the notes appear as your regular notes do, as if you had written this thread yourself. They are visible when someone clicks on Add Thread at the particular thread.
