The two minutes pass quickly, and yet there isn't any sign of Jade. You idly watch the old lady finish feeding the birds and hobble off along her way. You look back at your watch. Now she's two minutes late. You decide to give her another five, and leave if she doesn't show after that.
Five minutes turns into ten. "Just in case," you tell yourself, but you don't see the anyone bearing the slightest resemblance to the ad from the paper and the voice on the phone. You sigh, frustrated that your plan failed so early on.
You decide to head back to your place to take stock of your situation. On the way, you stop at a hot-dog stand to grab a bite to eat. You order one with the works, and just as you're paying the man who owns the stand a lovely little brunette steps up to order a vegetarian-dog. You can't help but double-take at this one, she's a hot number if ever you saw one. Even if she is short.
