This is an Au where Warren shoots Buffy but not Tara. In the effort to get Buffy to the hospital he gets away. Andrew and Jonathan stay in jail until season 7 when they offer to help Buffy fight the First. So Rack doesn't get killed. He the one who does the stuff Andrew did. Willow, Tara and Jonathan do the Slayer activation spell together. Everything else stays the same. Everything in Angel stays the same, except this takes place before Fred was turned into Illyria.
Matter and Energy can't be destroyed. Just changed into one another. Buffy wasn't sure that was how the scientific prinicpal went, but it was something similar. And it even applied to magic. What it meant was that when Angel had stripped Jasmine of her power the power hadn't been destroyed. it still existed. According to COrdelia who had descended from a Higher Plain to help, that meant it could be claimed. And whoever claimed it wouldn't have Jasmine's weaknesses. True names had no effect on humans, vampires, or most of the demons on Earth. They wouldn't have to consume anything but what they normally did, though they'd have to consume more if they exerted some of the powers Jasmine had demonstrated.
They weren't the only group tracking it down. Angel had found out one of Fred's underlings at Wolfram&Hart named Knox was after the power. There was Rack. And a group of vampires. They'd captured one and interogated him. And his words had haunted Buffy.
"When we claim her power humans will be nothing but cows and they'll be happy about it. They line up for us to slaughter them. THere will be some exceptions though. You Slayers. You'll be our human farmer. making sure they're kept in good shape and breeding properly. And their drained corpses will be your meals."
They had all managed to arrive at the cave where the power had settled. Buffy could see that none of the Slayers with her were near the glowing ball of energy, they were tied up with the vamps. Angel's group was too. Willow and Tara were facing Rack and Amy magically. As they fought she saw a figure leap for the glowing green light.
The blinding flash settled and they all dropped to their knees. Buffy felt the weight of the world lift from her shoulders. Everything would be okay now that he had Jasmine's power. |
