“Can you drop us at the Fox please” Lucy asks, “Dani has a crush on the barman there, so as good a place as any to start hey.” You shout at her from the back, denying it, but it’s an old joke between the two of you, just because when you was in there once before you did tell Lucy he was hot, and maybe the kiss you gave him in exchange for a free drink the same night just gave her more ammo in her story, especially as the kiss had got a little more passionate than you had meant it to whilst leaning over the bar.
Quickly changing the subject off yourself, you ask if Dave can put some music on to get you into the party mood, and he simply waves at the radio to indicate to help yourselves. Lucy, being the nearest, clicks it on and cranks up the volume whilst searching for a decent station, because Dave may be a nice bloke, but Radio 2 just isn’t the sort of thing you want to listen to.
With the music filling the car, conversation is difficult for the rest of the journey, so you pass the time by sitting back in your seat and seeing if you can get Dave’s attention by pouting in his mirror. You catch his eyes flick around and know you have succeeded.
Finally the cab pulls up outside the pub, and after pulling the handbrake into place, Dave turns to Lucy to tell her the fare, a pointless gesture as it’s always the same price. And as always when it’s Dave driving, she asks if there’s a discount for a flash, to which he just grins and gives her the same response as always, discounts only for full nudity.
“Maybe if you pick us up on the way home” she tells him as she digs out the right money.
The two of you get out the car, blowing kisses to Dave as he pulls away, before stepping towards the pub where you plan to start your night.
