The Sisterhood | cvn88 | 12

You assumed the next matter of business would be Charlie, but in fact there was a biref delay in that as your Sisters informed you that the next evening would be spent shopping, to provide you with the wardrobe and other items you would need. The thought of doing so with your Sisters, going out in public together, accompanied by some loyal pets for carrying your puchases and acting as chaffeurs filled you with anticipation that did not abate even as talk moved to more serious matters.

"Okay," Melanie announced, "as much fun as the shopping excursion will be, we have to move on. I need to know what we've been able to find out about Charlie Davis, to see if we should target him for conversion as a Sister. Jenna, what have you found?"

Melanie's question was addressed to a red-haired Sister with a laptop computer. She smiles at you as she says "We may use magic, but that doesn't mean we can't take advantage of technology. heck, I'm a CS major. You should see how the geeks over there treat me, and they're not even pets."

Melanie noisily cleared her throat, and Jenna looked apologetic as she continued.

"Sorry. Well, Charlie is in our records. Last year when we began searching for a suitable canddiate his name came up, but there were other, more likely canddiates so he was not pursued; in fact, we never even did a background check. However, I accessed school records. He's 20, a junior English major with a respectable GPA, and he's in a couple of poetry and drama clubs. Oh, and a background check will be begun first thing tomorrow."

Melanie nodded. "Okay, do your searching and let me what comes up. Alanna, what do you have?"

A blonde Sister answered, "A couple of Sisters have had classes with him, but never found out much. We do know he has a steady girlfriend, Samantha Housley, and from what he's been overheard saying most if not all of his family is dead or estranged from him."

Melanie again took this information in. "Pauline, is this Samantha a possible initiate? If she were a Sister it could make our task easier if we decide to convert Charlie?"

Another blonde Sister checked her own laptop but grimaced. "No, sorry Melanie. In fact, she's one of the Forsaken" (as an aside to you "girls who for whatever reason can never be Sisters").

"That's too bad. Still, she shouldn't pose a problem. After all we still need to get close to Charlie to see if he has any of the signs of being a Patriarchy potential, and if he's actually been contacted by them. We aren't strong enough yet tot ake an actual Patriarchy member, but if they are not yet aware of him, he is fair game."

At this point you interrupt respectfully. "Excuse me, Melanie, Sisters, but can we not make this Samantha woman a pet, or is that forbidden to the Forsaken."

"No," Melanie replies, "it is not; Forsaken make excellent pets. In fact, Sister, that is a wonderful idea. We can make her a pet, then use her to gather information about Charlie. If there is any danger in apporaching him, let her take the risks rather than a Sister. And since you came up with the idea, you will have the honor of making her your first pet."

"I will be glad to do so, it is an honor to serve the Sisterhood." you reply honestly, glad to be able to contrinute so soon after your own initiation.

"Excellent. Well, I see we are all rather tired from Valerie's conversion, so let's call it a night. We have shopping tomorrow, and by the end of the week Valerie will have herself a new pet to play with."

So, do we do the shopping or the pet-making, or something else?

          Bedtime. And girl talk.
