Love Under GrAy Skies | TJChurch | 5

My motion wakes Sara. “What do you think?” she says. “What do you mean?” I ask, as I slowly head back towards the couch. “What do I think about what?”

“Do you think its fate? Do you think it’s possibly fate that I walked into your office. I mean, you’re not the only one in your business. I’m sure I could’ve just as easily met someone in your line of work that’s married.”

“I doubt that. A lot of us get into this because something goes wrong in our own lives.”

“Maybe. But even so,” she says, as I slowly sit back down & she moves toward me, “don’t you think it’s a little more than coincidence? Your last relationship didn’t work out… Mine’s ending… You meeting me again once I get here…”

“That’s only because you asked if I would,” I interrupt. “Agreed,” she says. “But who says that choice was entirely yours to make? There’s a chance, & I think a pretty good one, that something made you decide to come.”

I simply grunt, in an attempt to express that only I make all my decisions.

“Think about what we have here,” she says, wrapping both hands around my arm & pulling it to her. “We have you, & we have me. There’s nobody else around to bother us, & nobody to worry where we are, so we can stay out here as long as we want.”

Feeling her hold my arm, with my elbow just below the curve of her chest, bothered me, but in a good way. If I had wanted her before, that was nothing compared to now.

Do I act on the feeling?

          I must.
