"Ok I'll bring the money tomorrow" she declared, then she walked home and went through her belongings, looking for things that she might be able to sell quickly. She took some old jewellery and some watches to a pawn shop, next she went to an antique store and sold a pair of vases that her grandmother had given her. With those sales and the existing money she had, she was now up to $150.
Doing some quick calculations, Claire realised that the pay for working at the bar tonight wasn't get to be enough unless there were some good tippers.
Worrying that she wouldn't be able to make the money in time she got changed and headed in to work. The bar was quite busy this evening as it turns out the owner was running a Karaoke night and there were a load of amateur singers trying their luck. There was a cash prize of $200 for the winner, 'this could be my chance' thought Claire, she daydreamed of not only winning the money but getting talent spotted and shooting to stardom.
One of the guys who'd been sitting at the bar most of the evening was getting quite drink and Claire decided it was probably time he stopped, so when he asked for another round she refused him, "I think you've had enough" she stated. "awwwww come on lady! Just one more? I'll pay you extra" the drunk guy replied, "in fact, if you come to the toilet and blow me I'll give you 50 bucks too!" he said, leering at her.
