The e-mail with Master PC traveled through cyber space an incredible pace, absorbing knowledge along the way... and then it settled inside Wendy Carmichael’s e-mail account, took note of the many addresses, and proceeded to duplicate itself before moving on with a brand new mission...
A version of Master PC found itself eventually on the computer of one Aidan O’Donnell, a 46 year old man known for most of his life as an asshole. Aidan was one of those men who whined at everything in life and complained a lot about things that weren’t that bad. He would have given anything to have access to Master PC to right the perceived wrongs done to him.
But this isn’t the story about Aidan. Aidan had long ago set filters on his email account to block spam. He got a lot given the number of porn websites he tended to frequent. But because Aidan was an asshole he didn’t set the filters to send possibly malicious files to a recycle bin. Aidan had his filters send anything out to a list of people he didn’t like. Not people who knew Aidan and so who might tell him to stop. Just to random groups of charities he objected to, to movie stars he thought were crap (pretty much everybody who has ever starred in a movie) or their agents if he couldn’t find the right email address.
So when the extremely large file arrived on his computer he didn’t even even see it. It got shuttled over to the filter and the filter selected at random from the email addresses on his shit list. It got sent on its way and any evidence of its existence on Aidan’s computer was deleted.
Of course if an email gets sent it has to arrive somewhere. |
