The Walking Dead | Rogerthejolly | 2

"I work at Alliance Architects. It's- an architecture firm," you respond lamely.

The officer nods her head but takes her time to respond, in which you glance around her towards the limping man. You can see him more clearly now; he looks very sick and he's holding his arm. Could this man be one of the infected?

"What're you doing?" the police officer asks, pulling your attention back to her.

"There's a- uh- man behind you," you answer.

The cop turns around just as the man spoke.

"Help me. I've been bitten," he stated weakly.

"Sir, please stop where you are," ordered the cop, her hand on her sidearm.

But the man didn't stop and just continued walking towards her.

"Sir, stop where you are, NOW!" Shouted the officer, her gun now drawn.

Still the man didn't stop and was only a few feet from the police officer. Slowly he moved forward and the cop seemed to have frozen.

"Please-" began the sickly man, his arms now outstretched.

"MOVE!" you shout just in time.

The officer sidestepped at the same time that the limping man lunged. He missed and fell straight towards your car, hitting his head on the top of the door and falling through your open window.

He seemed to have lost consciousness as he just lay there and after a few very long moments, you find your voice.

"What the-"

Before you can finish, the man stirs; he turns his head and looks up at you, his pupils seem to have rolled back into his head.

Suddenly the man attacks, grabbing onto your shoulders and tries to bite you but he's oddly easy to fight off and soon enough the man falls out of the car, onto the expressway.

"-fuck," you finish, rolling up your window and then you jump out of your car.

" I didn't do anything, I swear! He attacked me!"

"I saw," said the cop, her gun trained on the man who wasn't moving. "I've got to call this in. Please stand on the other side of you car."

The cops demeanor had softened a bit and you were inclined to listen.

As you turn to walk around your car you hear a moan and the sick man is on his feet again, advancing towards you.

"Duck!" shouted a voice.

Do you duck in time?
