The Briefcase | RicoLouis | 13

Mister Easton sat in his office looking out over Miami from his penthouse apartment as he shook the ice in his drink in hand, a very old and very expensive whisky. He had a taste for the finer things in life and would do anything to get them. His cell phone began to ring, it was about time. He reached over and picked it up.

“What do you got Gabriel.” He said speaking to his key enforcer.

“The detective you have me following just visited a pawn shop.” He could tell his attack dog didn’t like playing fetch but knew better than to say so.

“Does he have anything with him?” Easton said as he reached over and pulled out a Cuban cigar.

“Some banged up old briefcase.” The man said. Easton ran the cigar under his nose taking in the strong odor.

“You still there sir?” His lackey asked after he hadn’t responded.

“Yes. I want you to follow him and get that case.” Easton said with a grin.

“Yes Mr. Easton. You want me to make it look like an accident?” Gabriel was good at that. He could make it look like a suicide easy enough but that took time. Easton knew they didn’t have time.

“No. But get rid of the body afterwards.” Easton said putting the cigar in his mouth and used his cigar cutter to cut off the end.

“What about the pawn shop owner?” Gabriel said.

“I will take care of that myself.” Easton said with a grin as he pulled out the lighter holding it in the air as he flicked it the tip of his cigar caught fire. If he was right then Mr. Easton could add some new toys to his collection.
