"Well Mr Sheffield," she answers, "A girl I used to know is acting in Hollywood and she has invited me out to visit. Of course, if you thought that I could be better occupied here, I'd be delighted to talk to you about that." Her voice almost purred that last sentence and felt myself getting hard.
She has all the subtlety of a brick but I suppose there's something to be said for the direct approach. The alternative of course is to let her stew in her own juices for a while. I pause the program for a moment just to get a feel for the characters, I speed read the briefing from the computer. Interesting, there's more options here than I thought.
"Computer, resume program," I say, as I stand from the chair and walk over to Nanny Fine. "Well Ms Fine," I tell her, if those are my only two options I guess I have no choice." She's practically swooning now and I lean in close and whisper to her..." |
