"This is where you can take a look at the Casting Department without being seen. These windows appear to be mirrors to those on the other side. The room you are looking at now is the reception area. Those women all have applied to be in our productions."
Jess hands you a stack of folders.
"These are their applications. You can see from the files what each one's background is, her experience in films, with various sexual situations, and so forth. Typically, our casting assistants will audition each one, trying them out in various situations and then seeing how well they perform when there are others in the room. Once that is done, they make their recommendations to you, and you get to make the final decision about whether to hire the girl or not. Of course, you are free to change our system if you'd like."
Jess also tells you that all audition sessions are recorded by hidden cameras, so you can always call up and see the actual audition if you have any questions about how a particular woman might look on screen.
"Who is the 'Casting Department'?" you ask.
"We have a number of college boys who intern here," she says. "It isn't very hard to find wiling men to 'donate' their time to us. In fact, if you know of anyone who would like to help out, let me know, and I'll get them on the schedule."
You look out into the waiting area and see a great assortment of females, ranging from the quite young to one who looks like she could be your grandmother.
