I quickly have the computer scan through some of the entertainment forms from the last few hundred years. I've programmed in some basic preferences to help guide it towards things I like and dislike.
If you know anything about 20th Century entertainment, it will probably reveal something about those preferences that the very first programme it recommended was something labelled Baywatch.
I told it to come up with a list of a few hundred more programmes using my preferences and evaluated the results.
Turns out that since the mid 20th century there's been an awful lot of entertainment based on my preferences.
Still, I need to decide something for my first programme.
