There were two types of visitors to your family's farm, not always from Kiliko, but always from a Guild.
Members of the Hawkers Guild would come and trade with your mother and this was a chance for your family to swap food grown for important items like salt and metal equipment like knives.
Once and a while the farm was even visited by a member of the Messengers Guild. These interesting people were always dressed in bright colours, robes of feathers and wore large hats. You found out about the infestation of small bugs that had eaten all the crop west of Kiliko from one of the Messengers. That had been a profitable year for the farm but you had heard from another Messenger than many hundreds had suffered.
You know of other guilds too; rangers, warriors and more mysterious people but are not so sure what they do.
One thing is for certain though - the life of adventure seems to begin with the Guilds. |
