Surviving Space Station Sigma | street0 | 5

The sprint feels good on your bare skin. You miss the breeze and air flow of being on an actual planet.

You quickly pass the doors into Greenhouse B. As you exit the corridor, you almost see a humanoid shadow emerge into it far away. The doors close behind you.

There's a small cubicle for changing into gardening gear, but the clothes shredding gas has gotten here ahead of you. The only thing left are the gardening sandals. You look at them, and back at your boots. Both seem pointless with the station gone to hell and you barely dressed in your skivvies.

The rest of the vast space is taken up by the greenhouse. This one is allocated to experiments involving various earth-plants genetically recombined with bacteria from planet #90-beta. Dr. Stewart's focus wasn't on plants when you got here, but you see grape vines, cucumber tendrils, and various other creepers and ivies.

Blinding lamps made to simulate the light of a yellow sun shine overhead. The effect is almost like being in a tanning bed.

You strip off your boots and step barefoot onto the warm, wet soil. Your toes curl in tactile happiness.

There's a rustling in the giant orange space pumpkins at the far end of the greenhouse.

"Hello?" you call out.

What draws Rachel's attention? How safe is her haven?
