Yes, you chose love for one human before the love of the lord and your duty. And for that you were punished. You was called to stand trial, and you were convicted. you saw how the soul of your beloved was made immortal, that he would forever be reincarnated, always walking the earth. He would live, but he would die. And the one thing that would always kill him was your love, the love the two of you would always share.
Your scream achoed as you were falling, the fall took decades, and all throughout it your pain made you scream.
You were sentenced to walk on the earth among them, not as one of them, but amongst them. And you would always know the soul of your lover, his light would always draw you too him, as a moth to the fire. And in every life you would have to make him love you again, as his soul would be the same but the memories of past lives would be buried. You would share a wonderful short minutes, days, weeks, sometimes even months. But he always died, and that pain was unbearable. You tried to kill yourself several times, but angels can not die, so you lived with the pain.
And now, now you lived with it again. 19 years ago you hade felt him return, and you had watched him, as he grew. This time you had had more time than ever, you had spent the last year with him, every second of it made your heart ache. The love you shared was for ever, and it hurt so much every time he died. You cry as the darkness lets go of you.
How long had it been since you watched him cringe in fear and pain, as the end was close.
