And they actually need to consume metals to help rebuild them self if they need to repair themselves.
Also you built a rack unit holding hundreds of these things.
You also program it so that all info about the character is stored on the memory cube. And if a memory cube has a subject designator attach to it. It will also have a tri-state digital copy of that subjects DNA. So you could have the real human person and the nannobot clone side by side and it be like identical twins. With new memories on each from after it was copied.
