Steph and the City | 24ward | 4

It feels like you've been walking for an hour. First you followed what you thought was the bus path, then just tried to keep in the same direction, but you were stymied by a freeway blocking your path. You doubled back, trying to find a different route across, out of this ghetto and into what you imagined was the downtown core, but now your feet are killing you and you are losing hope.

The streets have been strangely deserted, and you can't recall having seen a single vehicle or pedestrian during your trek. Focused on the pain in your feet, you spy a bench located a few yards inside a park and next to a low-rise apartment building. You make your way over there, lowering yourself on the moist wood and grimacing slightly as you unbuckle your clubby high heels from your throbbing feet. You notice that although the bench is not far from the road, the trees obscure the few street lights and leave your immediate vicinity quite dark and feeling secluded. You yawn, wondering if you could just lie down and sleep in a city park and hope for better things in the morning. You also notice one of the ground-level windows of the building a little ways down emitting soft light and throbbing 'jungle music'. You also notice some nearby bushes rustling, and wonder if it is an animal or a human, and if you should investigate. You consider leaving the area, but you don't think your feet will carry you very far at this point...

What does Steph do next? Investigate the bushes? The window? Sleep? Or...?
