The boy had rescued his mother and sister and they were strolling home to the manor he had secured ownership of. His mother, Diva Downe was lauding him with praise and saying he was the most excellent “little man” that a woman had ever met. She seemed quite thrilled to be free of the slavers, so much so that she seemed to have forgotten that her husband’s body was barely cold. The sister seemed to agree with her mother but said little.
Although he enjoyed the praise and although he was physically tingling with anticipation it was still an arduous walk home for the boy. The strain and fatigue of the past few days were catching up with him and his feet felt alternatively like stone or burning pain.
Finally the three Downe’s reentered their home.
“And now our little man needs a bath!” Diva exclaimed.
