In From The Snow | deathofcards | 5

Keith wondered what the radio dispatcher had to tell him, he knew that it wasn't likely to be good news.

"It's the about the car's owner." The dispatcher told him.

"What is it" Keith asked.

"I've just finished talking with a friend I've got who works at the DMV. I got him to run the plates on the car you found."

"Well what did he find out?" Keith asked.

"It's strange because their records show that Albert Fields has been dead for the past two months." He explained.

Keith couldn't believe what he was hearing. On some level all the pieces were beginning to fit together but it still shocked him. Keith stood there holding the radio's receiver in silence for several minutes before he could come up with a reply.

"So who is that it's in my house?" Keith asked.

"We're not sure. It could just be a discrepancy in their records, so we're trying to have the information verified but that's going to take at least a couple of hours" He told him.

"So what do I do in the mean time?" Keith asked getting a little annoyed.

"We're going to try and send someone over to you but with the weather the way it is it might not be possible. All I can say is sit tight and be cautious..."

Keith didn't let him finish what he was saying and hung up the receiver, switching the radio off. What he had just heard unsettled him, the dispatcher might have had something else to tell him but he had been too pissed off to hear him out. Keith peered round the corner to see that the man was still sleeping thankfully. Virginia was stood over him tending to the guys' medical needs.

Virginia noticed Keith looking at her. He tried not to look worried but Keith never could keep anything from her for long.

"What was that about?" Virginia asked.

Keith was wondering what he should tell her. He didn't know the full facts himself so he didn't know what he should tell her.

Does Keith tell her or say something else?
