reaches down and digs deeply into her purse for the keys to her house. A contented smile crosses her face as she finds them and pulls them out to unlock the door, to the sound of the banter of her son, , and his two friends behind her. They have just won the local Baseball tournament, one that many of the areas college coaches were attending. They were flush with excitement from winning. had pitched an almost perfect game. Greg, the catcher, and Steve, the short stop had made the winning runs. A goal that he and his team had been working hard toward for several months now. While the victory was nice, the possibility of a college scholarship was just as wonderful, thought to herself. But even so, she was happy just to see them so overjoyed as she opened the door to let them in.

As sets her purse down on the table, she looks back over her shoulder to ask, "You guys want something to drink?"

"Sure, Mom. That would be great," , responds quickly. Greg and Steve, his two teammates and friends, nod their heads in agreement. turns and leaves them to their chatter as she heads into the kitchen.

While fixes the drinks, she notices that it has gone suddenly quiet in the other room. Frowning to herself, she places the glasses on a tray and heads back into the living room, then hands the drinks out. As she sets the tray down on a table, notices a somewhat expectant expression on each of their faces as they watch her. "What?" asks them, puzzled.

"Well, Mom, we were wondering if you were going to keep your promise to us...."

          That you'll go the the post game victory party with them as their date
