“On one condition. We both know going that far into hostile territory is worth more than that. But I was considering going there anyway so I am inclined to take the deal. However if I do I need you first to tell me exactly all of the powers of my magic items I already have, some of them I picked up recently and I didn’t fully trust the last guy I paid to identify them for me.” You lie, hopefully believably.

“That seems fair. Then it is settled lets go back upstairs, I can look you over and see what you have and get the message.” You follow him up the stairs and he once again looks you over with his mildly glowing eyes. “Your gloves form a barrier around you that will deflect any glancing blow about as well as a steel breastplate would. Your right nipple ring protects you from fire, wow, even total immersion, but not up to say lava. Oh, I almost missed that one, nasty, your sword sheath will change shape to accommodate any blade from 2’ to 5’ long, and if activate the magic on it, it will poison the blade with dragons blood poison on the next strike. It seems it takes 6 hours to recharge after use. Quite nasty, I take it you are an assassin.”

“I got it from an assassin yes, actually that was the one I wasn’t sure about, I guess I was just a bit nervous about pointing it out as I got it from the previous owner after they died.” All true, sort of. He nods as he listens, but you are not sure if he believes you or simply doesn’t care. Taking the note you ask, “How will I find your sister?”

“Her name is Gerty, she is the one that makes all of my herbal items upstairs. She runs a herb shop in Greenstone, I don’t know the name exactly but I am sure it is the only herb store in a desert town, and she is pretty popular down there because of that so you should be able to ask any guard or shop owner there.

“No problem, thanks for everything. I should head out tomorrow morning.” He waves goodbye to you as you head down the street. The sun now much lower on the horizon you slip your new sword in your sheath and pull on the belt, tucking the other items you purchased into it. As you walk down the street you can’t help but give your right nipple ring a little tweak, “I guess you are the reason I didn’t get burned last night eeh.” You say with a grin.

Just about three blocks later you spot a pair of guards that are definitely wearing the same armor as the people you were shot at by last night.

Ask them where to find him, attack, or hide?

          Might as well ask.
