The Fall of Athenapolis | kiahoga | 16

At first you consider just walking up to the first troops saying your Amara and that you wish to see the lord general, and just as quickly you decide that that’s probably not a good idea for the first few days.

“I don’t think it would be smart to just walk up to my mothers troops right now with the city having just fallen. That is, unless we want to end up flat on our backs for a few days servicing one soldier after another.” You say shaking your head.

Immestra wrinkles her nose in disgust at your statement than after a moment asks “ Well what do we do then.”

Looking at your former mistress you grab her hair at the roots, causing her to cry out in pain, and jerk her head back exposing the line of her throat. You place the tip of the knife against her pulse.

“What were your plans.” You demand feeling a savage pleasure seep into your blood as fear flashes into Clymene’s eyes. Other than your first master, she has been your greatest tormentor.

With a gulp Clyemene whispers “What did you do to my son?”

You laugh evilly “Don’t worry bitch. After I took his clothes I left your brat chained up in my cell. If he’s lucky maybe the mercenaries will think he’s one of Rastos’ boys and free him.” and then after the slightest pause, “Or use him.” Clymene winces as you add the last jibe, but you do not give her any time to wallow in self pity.

“Now what were you plans Clymene?” Your grip in her hair is tighter than it has to be and you run the large kitchen knife over her white neck enjoying the panicked look in her eyes. “I certainly wouldn’t want to cut your lovely throat would I.” You taunt.

“I'll .... I'll tell you just please don’t hurt me.” Clymene whines. “Master Rastos has some secret tunnels that he uses for smuggling.” In her fear she seems to have forgotten all about her son. “They exit out to the sewers, and eventually the river.”

“But, nobody has been able to get out of the city via river since the second week of the siege.” Immestra states dashing your hopes.

“I know that stupid girl.” Clymene snaps “I figured we’d hide down there for several days maybe as long as a fortnight then take a boat down the river and out of the city.”

“And your plans for me?” You demand.

Before Clymenes can answer you hear more commotion coming from down the hallway. Quickly you and Immestra drag Clymene out from the center of the room so in order to see you someone would actually have to come into the kitchen. Putting your knife against her throat again you whisper to your captive, “Silence or you're dead.”
