School Report | alpha-xeta | 9

He nods, "Okay, but let me show you at least one of them – there's a special one right down the hall."

You agree reluctantly and follow him to the end of the basement. The room looks like any other, but you mentally shrug. Ed opens the door and shows you inside.

You find the light switch and flip it.

You're floored.

It looks like you've walked into a dentist office. There's a large metal chair for laying back in, several mobile tool cabinets and several odd gadgets held up on the wall.

"Do you teach dentistry?" you ask him as you step in further, drawn curiously to the chair, "This is... "

The door closes. It makes a strange sound as it does.

"It's fascinating isn't it?" he says happily.

You look over your shoulder at him but continue closer towards the chair. It's lined with black leather seating and seems genuinely comfortable. Behind the chair are dozens of metal canisters – possibly anesthesia.

The only thing really off about it, is that the chair's arm rests have straps. Actually, it's got a lot of straps on it. Enough to totally bind somebody from the neck down. Dentistry for the mentally impaired, maybe? Seems a little cruel.

Attached above the chair is what appears to be an x-ray machine – a circular dome structure that would be lowered to the height of the person's head. It looks state of the art.

"I didn't know this school had something like this..."

He grins, "Would you like to have a look?"

"What do you mean?"

"Have a seat, it's very comfortable. I can show you what we do in here better that way."

You feel odd declining his request, but you can't deny that it would be odd to sit in a chair like that without pretense.

Sit down?
