Unsure how to react to what was happening, and trying to tell herself it wasn’t, Lisa slowly tried to create a response.
“Billy!”, she shouted. “You shouldn’t be in here!”
“I know I shouldn’t,” Billy responded, his voice a mix of shame at being caught and a desire to be even naughtier.
“No!”, Lisa insisted. “This is wrong! What were you thinking?! You shouldn’t be doing something like this!”
“I shouldn’t even be home,” Billy replied. “So what’re you gonna do about it?”
“On the other hand,” Lisa said after a moment’s pause, “I’ve been thinking about what you said about not being your real mother.”
“And…?”, Billy asked.
“And you’re right. Which means I can’t punish you when you do something you shouldn’t,…”
She slowly began to turn towards him, & added, “And I can do some things you shouldn’t with your real mother.” |
