"I really can't," he tells her honestly. "It wouldn't be fair to you. But how about we make it a date in a couple days? I really like you and want to to get to know you."
She smiles, reluctantly agreeing. They add each other to their cell phones and plan to make a date of it a couple days later. He says he likes to cook and invites her over instead of going out somewhere, which sounds great to her!
Erika -- that's her name -- considers the next two days the L O N G E S T days of her life, waiting in anticipation for the big day, her date with Chase -- that's his name. They exchange a few cute, suggestive text messages during this time -- she loves the way he flirts.
Finally the big day is here, and after work Erika gets all ready for Chase to pick her up. He actually wanted to come pick her up like a 'real date' rather than having her drive to his place. She wonders if it will be the next morning when she returns? Just in case, she packs a small bag, more like a large purse, with a change of shirt and underwear, some bath products and a toothbrush. So that it's not TOO obvious, she uses this bag as cover to include a bottle of wine and some cheese -- she knows what the menu is tonight and said she wants to contribute an appetizer and a wine she thinks will pair well.
There's a knock at the door right at the time he says he'd be there -- a good sign! She opens the door for him and lets him in -- she gives the short tour of her apartment and then they head out, across the parking lot to his vehicle. |
