Lust of the jungle flesh | Sixth | 4

“You don’t need your arms for walking,” Logan said as he gave Sarah a shove in the right direction. “Get going.” She had only just risen to her feet.

Sarah knew not to complain nor try her luck again. It would take time to win this rebel over but by the looks of things she would have plenty of time.

Logan hadn’t picked a direction at random. Even as the shuttle hurtled towards the planet on its crash course he was aware that the sun had been over the northern pole. It wouldn’t have moved much in this time, not with a planet of this size and so by walking towards the sun they should be heading north. It would be a matter of counting the hours in each day cycle.

As the unlikely pair trudged out of the clearing, Logan pushing a way through vine entangled trees, the creature looked on. It knew by smell that one of the strange beings was male and the other female. They didn’t seem to be a mated pair. It preferred dealing with solo females, they were easier and weaker. Perhaps the male would leave the female unguarded during the night.

Silently the creature swung from branch to branch, keeping up with the two visitors but maintaining a safe distance behind. It knew that the two would likely reach the marsh with its strange gasses by night. Gasses that sometimes made it see things that were not really there.

Do they reach the marsh at all?
