With a flick of her hand, Teara made a root twist under the paladin's foot as she swung her sword. With a gasp, she fell forward into the lecherous hands of one of the brigands. The impact knocked the air from her lungs and sent her sword flying out of her hands.
Laughing, the man pinned her arms. "Ha!" he cried triumphantly. "Time to teach this bitch some manners."
"She butchered Gars," another snarled. "I say we fuck the self-righteous cunt till she bleeds!"
"And then sell her to a brothel!" a third one added, laughing. "The Mermaid's Tits in Helmgard can always use some more whores to service the Devout."
Amidst laughter, the leader stepped forward and reached for the paladin's breasts. Teara judged this to have gone on for long enough. Although she loathed the more standard attack spells, she knew that one of her more... creative tricks would turn the paladin against her. Instead, she stepped forward and levelled her fingers to cast a lightning bolt and the bandit leader.
The spell blew him off his feet, leaving his smoking corpse lying at the edge of the path. The other bandits were stunned for a moment, allowing Teara to zap another of them. The rest, unwilling to face a sorceress, turned and ran, dropping the paladin as they fled.
Teara rushed to her side, her face full of concern. "Are they alright?" she asked in the breathless, simpering voice of an innocent do-gooder. "Did they hurt you?"
"I... I am fine. But I am grateful for your aid. My name is Arinae, Paladin of the Silver Star. Who are you?"
"My name is... Teara. The sorceress."
"The Perverter?" Arinae gasped, pulling away.
"No! I share a name with that vile strumpet, but that is all."
The paladin sighed with relief. "Then... perhaps we should travel together... Teara. This road is obviously dangerous."
"I... would like that."
Arinae nodded and got to her feet, setting off again. Behind her, Teara smiled evilly.
